Yamaha Launches DM7 Series as 22live made a Yamaha Authorised Reseller

June 7th 2023

22live the UK’s next generation pro-audio service provider, has been made a Yamaha Authorised Reseller aligning perfectly with the release of the new Yamaha DM7 Series consoles. Alex Penn 22live Commercial Director comments “We are very excited by the prospect of becoming a Yamaha reseller and see this as a real opportunity to further establish ourselves as not only a rental business but a provider too in the world of resale of tour sound products.”

Yamaha DM7 Digital Console

Yamaha have long been a dominant force in the world of digital mixing. The release of the M7CL back in 2005 really opened digital mixing to the masses. Most engineers entering the market in the last 15 years would have cut their teeth on both M7CL and PM5D. The control platform then morphed into a familar workflow on both the CL and QL Series consoles, all of which have become familiar industry standard products known for their reliability and functionality.

The market has come a long way since the launch of the M7CL and access to digital mixing is now more affordable than ever with many cost effective options providing comprehensive specifcations. While the DM7 series is likely to sit above what is now the entry level price point, it offers a professional package, with high end functionality and carries the Yamaha seal of approval which is known to be robust, reliable, familiar and therefore attractive to many engineers in many markets.

“We see this as a real opportunity to further establish ourselves as not only a rental business but a provider too in the world of resale of tour sound products.”

Both the DM7 and DM7C (Compact) are backwards compatible with existing Rio1608-D2 and Rio3224-D2 IO racks offering another advantage for existing Yamaha owners. We will also be looking at packaging options for both desks as soon as we can get our hands on them. We are particularly interested to see how lightweight we can make the DM7C package with case. The DM7C itself weighs in at 16.5 KG and with 16/16 Physical IO on the back, this makes it quite a neat, compact and lightweight system potentially capable of being a flight package.

Alex Penn comments re the Yamaha relationship “We at 22live have a long association with Yamaha. On a personal level I have spent many years acting as a Yamaha reseller and it’s great to be able to continue the relationship. We hope to make Yamaha a key brand for 22live and provide a great service to our Yamaha customers. The experience we all have specifying and working with Yamaha historically I’m sure makes us a great option for customers looking to source Yamaha in the future. We have actually already faciliated a number of Yamaha sales, and hope to continue building on this as we grow and develop over the coming years. We’ve also been creating opportunities for customers to resell their older Yamaha stocks through 22live, and intend to continue offering our brokering service going forwards to help turn your older stock into new.”
